The Coach House & Ithaca
Two Distinctive New Homes
Acre Planning Limited was commissioned to design and submit planning applications for two contemporary dwellings.
Coach House
The Coach House was a listed building which due to its poor condition had to be demolished. The application included a like for like replacement with a contemporary extension with the two elements linked by a three storey glazed link.
The Coach House has now been constructed and sold as of January 2022.
Ithaca
When we came to evaluating the site for Ithaca, it became apparent that there were a number of planning constraints which would need to be overcome: The position of existing nearby dwellings, steep banks, as well as the site forming part of the Industrial Heritage Conservation Area.
Our proposal turned these constraints into assets, informing the design of an unequivocally modern dwelling, which enhances the local area and compliments the previously approved Coach House.
Ithaca was completed in May 2022.
